Bottom Line:
Will use music or data CD's. Sound is good. Accessing speed is fast. Display is orange and very dim. Headphone has volume and sounds good. Menu driven digital level control. Will not record TRACK ID's alone. Has to have sound to record an ID. With sync, auto track(set at -72db) on it will add many spurious ID's from my DAT tapes. I have a Philips CDR-775 and in the REC EXT DISC (sync) mode will record the TRACK and SOUND information in a mirror image. I bought the Tascam because they are normally PRO equipment but not this model. In my opinion this is a toy.
