I picked this PD-D2500 up at a swap meet. I ignored it at first because I saw a similar Sony 5-CD Carousel. The Sony carousel didn't work, and yet this one worked perfectly. This thing is built to last and it is very superior to other CD players I've heard. It is hooked up to audiophile equipment (in my opinion at least) which I also picked up from the same swap meet (Kenwood Receiver and Scott AS-1b Audiophile bookshelf loudspeakers). It sounds great and works perfectly for the age; way better than any modern ones.

Strength:

Dependable and clear sound

Weakness:

none

I have this relatively cheap D2500 hooked up to audiophile equipment, i.e. NAD amp and Magnepan speakers. Thinking of replacing them but i cannot detect any faults at all...sound is great. It''s really dependable. A good product for the price!

Strength:

Sounds great. You won't be able to tell the difference between this CD player or another one that costs a whole lot more.

Weakness:

Cannot turn on with the remote. Come on now, Teac, you honestly think I'm willing to get off my couch just to turn on my CD player!?

Picked up my Teac CD player from Cost-Co about a year and a half ago. Paid around 150 bucks plus taxes. I purchased it on the spur of the moment and I'm real glad I did. It sounds great and costs significantly less than a Sony or Technics 5 disc changer.

I've heard my friend's new 5 disc Technics DVD/CD player and it doesn't sound quite as sharp.

Strength:

Sounds as good, or better than a $300.00 Sony.

Weakness:

Has no power off button on the remote. Also has less features than most CD players today.

I think that this is a great CD player for the money. I too bought mine for $99.00 at Costco. I have had 2 different Sony CD players and both broke down shortly after the warranty expired. In addition I have more than one friend that has bought sony CD players and had the same thing happen to them. I will never buy another piece of Sony stereo equipment. Although Teac products are fairly cheap in cost, their worth more to me.

AC hum from power supply competes with quiet music passages. Soundstage approaches mono. I guess what do I expect for $99?

Strength:

Sound quality,reliability,price...great value

Weakness:

ergonomics on front panel seem strange to me...that might be my problem since I'm SO used to the front panel on my 10 year old Sony changer , no power button on remote...a strange omission

I bought this unit last December as a X-mas present for my 14 year old daughter. I paid around $50 plus $15 shipping for a refurbished unit from uBid or OnSale.com(I can't remember which one). I initially thought the front panel was a bit flawed in the ergonomics department but you get used to it eventually. Also, I couldn't believe they omitted the power button on the remote. However, I was satisfied because I just wanted a decent and reliable CD changer to compliment my daughter's new system. The sound seems pretty good...no complaints. I also bought her a pair of Aura LSW-828M speakers and a half-decent JBL Pro-Logic receiver. It's a pretty darn good system for a kid's room...especially the highly regarded Aura's. I purchased a set of 24" MDF speaker stands(another X-mas present) several days ago to raise the tweeter to ear level when your sitting down. I should get a better idea on the sound quality of the system when the new stands are added. Her current speaker stands are only 8" high and that's just not high enough to bring out the best in the Aura's.Anyway,we haven't had any tracking or miscellaneous problems with the TEAC PD2500.It's delivered what I've asked of it...reliable high-quality sound.

Strength:

Very well built and very easy to use and great sound.

This Cd player is a very great buy if you can get a brand new one at reasonable price. It is built like a tank and plays and plays and have never had any problems. After owning one of these babies all the other CD player out there look like junk. Teac makes a really well built CD Players and if taken care of will last forever and is very easy to use compared to most.

Price/Features/Product Build

Weakness:

Front Panel Not User Friendly

My Onkyo 6 disk CD carousel has slowly begun to die, and I decided to replace it with a new carousel changer. I do not have audiophile equipment (Onkyo reciever/Accoustic Research P 216 bookshelf speakers), and therefore, was looking for an inexpensive, reliable unit. I came accross this TEAC 3200 (slod as 2790 model at Costco) at Costco
for a very reasonable $89.99. I have had TEAC tape products in the past, and have always been pleased with their quality. This unit has more than exceeded my expectations.
The sound quality is more than sufficient. The build quality is excellent (comparable to ONKYO). The unit also is loaded with features such as 3-way repeat, music skip, shuffle play, music search etc. The only slight complaint that I have, is that the front panel feature (time display etc.) is not that "user-friendly" to navigate. I think, over time this will fix itself. If you are looking for a budget priced, well-made, excellent sounding 5 disk CD carousel- I would highly recommend the TEAC PD-D3200.

Strength:

Cost.

Weakness:

Reliability

I think the unit sounds great, however, I've had one break down on me and the replacement we got gets confused on shuffle mode. Other than that I really like it.
