Excellent SACD, A TRUE STATE OF THE ART, very sofisticate technology, build with highest quality parts but not a 4/5 in redbook cds. I have owned more than 7 expensive players (integrated or combos transport-dac), in a period of 10 years. You have to spent way more money to get the overall sonic and build quality today.

And by the way the original price for the unit was 12000$ and not 7000 that the fellow reviewer states above. As for the released day, that was Jan 2007.

PLUS:
Very musical, smooth, warm, sounds relaxing analog like gramophone, incredible emotional side of sound, high definition natural sound, involving type of sound.

MINUS:
Display is too small. No open/close button on remote controller. Bass could be a bit better - more dynamic, hard and tight.

Better than Accuphase is only dCS but much more expensive. dCS plays a more real sound and
old recordings AAD 16 bits CD`s plays better. Accu DP78 is a jewel, but dCS (Verdi LaScala+Elgar Plus)
is a holy grail. It is shame and too late in era of stream players.
