I have all ultimate cables in my system. RCA interconnects, balanced interconnects, power cords, and speaker wire. I have a fairly nice system. Audio Research Ref 1 (preamp), Mark Levinson 332.5 (power amp), and Dynaudio Contour S5.4 speakers. New, this system would be about 30,000. I was able to put it together for $7,000. The preamp and power amp are about 10 years old but purchased used for very good prices. The speakers were just a few months old and purchased off of Audiogon through a authorized dealer.

My point is that I shop for bargins. I have a number of expensive hobbies and a WIFE. I listen to jazz, classical, alternative country, folk, and about anything else except hip hop.

I don't know how to evaluate these cables except to say I have no complaints. If you want to spend $10,000 dollars on a set of speaker cables then don't buy Ultimate Cables. If you think cables are really, really important and that there is a big difference in performance then I suggest you do some research. I have friends with $1500 interconnects and $3,000 speaker cables.

Ultimate Cables are a good product at a reasonable cost. With the money you save compared to some of the brands with adverts in The Absolute Sound, you can upgrade your speakers.

An excellent product with outstanding fit and finish, and I highly recommend them.

Take the advice of an old audiophool and try these cables.

I have gone through a good amount of speaker cables in my day... I own a pair of JPS labs Ultra Conductors, I own a pair of PS Audio xStream Statements (frikin monsters), & I own a pair Ultimate Silver Series C4 Speaker Cables... & i once borrowed a pair of MIT Shotgun cables... Which one of these cables do i use to hook up my Classe equipment to my B&W 804's you ask? Beleive it or not, I use & prefer the Ultimate Silver C4 cables... They are hands down amazing! The clarity i get from these cables is phenominal... The highs are sweet & the lows are low, the floor is so so floory & the blacks couldnt be darker!... I get the warm sound from my Classe & B&W's without the over warmth you hear so much about with B&W's & silver type cables... The perfect sound is effectively transended trough my speakers whether I am listening to lossless music or wathcing a bluray or simply watching HDTV... It is my personal experiance, that spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on high end speaker cables is a total waste of money!! I can afford the expensive cables & I have them... I also prefer Ultimate Cables XLR interconnects & for the $ they create a seemless connection between my SSP-600 & my CAV-180 ... I talked with Carl a bunch of times & he is a stand up guy (for a Canadian, just kidding Carl)... If you don't think his speaker cables are awesome, he will give you your money back!
