This was a little hard to classify. I use this male-male RCA adaptor between my DTI Pro and DAC, also in the chain is a BNC to RCA adaptor. It serves as a digital cable. I always asssumed that it must be highly inferior to just about any other digital link made by a "specialist" hi-end manufacturer. But apparently not. In a comparison with Audio Magic Presto II, I found the Shack way better. Better dynamics and detail, and more natural presentation. Thebetter dynamics seem to come from having such a short connection. You'd think it would play havoc with the bits and bytes before they arrive at the DAC, but seems not. I had a chance to audtion a Golmund lineal cable, and the Goldmund of course is more detailed, but I could not see spending 500 bucks instead of 3 or 4. When you use the Shack connector you will have to arrange it to avoid interfering with other cables out of your DAC or DTI. I needed to get some right-angle adaptors for the IC out.
This adaptor is a decent reference tool. If you can find a digital link way better, fine, but it can be a base point for comparison.
