Strength:

Large gauge; OFC high-purity copper; Economy; Easy DIY custom lengths

Weakness:

None

I purchased the OMC-10/10 after owning a set of Audioquest Type 4's. Yep, that wasn't a mistake; AQ Type 4's. The Type 4's were just too sterile and thin for my taste, and I have for the last 15 yrs used Monster cable, so I went back to it. Don't mess with success. The MC just has a fuller/richer sound, smoother treble and deeper reaching bass. Forget the hype--I've been there and done that. I purchased Radio Shack 2-piece banana's to terminate the MC. Result? A beautifully terminated, very good performing speaker cable for about $120. Keep in mind this is 2 10ft sets, as I have my speakers bi-wired. Associated Equipment: Parasound HCA-1500A Amp Parasound P/HP-850 Preamp Cambridge Audio D500SE CD Player Pinnacle CGT's speakers (bi-wired) Audioquest interconnects (sidewinders)

Weak Connectors

This is the first time buying a so called high quality cable. The type that I bought has a small pin for inserting into the binding post hole. When I was installing the cable the pin came off the end of the connector. Very poor design. It is only crimped on. After inspecting the remaining ends it looked like they would all eventually fall off. SO I returned them back to Best Buy.

Strength:

Good Cable, not cheap, lasts a long time.

Weakness:

the connectors suck.

It's a good cable for any kind of stereo. Well made. Has lasted me for years with no signs of oxidation, or orhter breakdown. As far as "sound quality" It's shouldn't contribute to the sound, that's the speakers job. If you want to pay 15k for a cable go ahead.

Strength:

Good fat cable, got on sale for 20 bucks, otherwise i woudnt have bought it.

Weakness:

None in this range.

Well, i see everyone is giving low scores because of the connectors, LOL...Dont plan on buying thses because they are pre terminated, As soon as i got mine home i cut em off and threw them away. Put on some good spades and heavy duty Bannanas. As far as sound goes, if you only have a few bucks to spend, you will get pretty good sound. Good highs and fast bass. Also another thing to look for in this price category is Acoustic Research ht222, another 12 gauge but OFC and its better. Overall these are great cables if you can get them on sale, and aent planning on spending big bucks. but cables DO matter/ DONT SKIMP when it comes to cables Trust me! I am looking for a replacement maybe some MIT or Kimber, or audioquest.

Strength:

just like all monster cable, it's good stuff.

Weakness:

those damn pin connecters suck.

well,i got these cause their monster, and their nice and fat. good enough for me, but then you get these pin connecters all ready on.
the cables are good, but the pins just don't stay in my binding posts, no matter which way, so i said fock it and cut them right off, but other than that, these cables work.

The package of these (12-gauge OMC10/10) cables that I bought from Best Buy cost me $34.99 plus tax! They perform well--but no better than the 16-gauge Monster Cable XP (which is a far better value). The pin connectors are very convenient if you have a receiver and/or speakers that otherwise can't accept thick wire or banana plugs (even if they're crimped on). IMO, this is a mediocre value for a 4-star performer.
