Strength:

This cable is smooth and life like. It can handle hard bends. I did not have flimsy cable end problems. I gave it 4 stars overall for its ability to bend well.

Weakness:

I note that some reviewers have pin problems. This may be a QA issue at the factory.

I got this to replace a monstervideo 3 that was only 1 mtr when I moved equipment. The sv3 had a better below black but the m series is smoother. When you consider a cable purchase, I recommend that you try and borrow several sets to see which best matches your taste. I personnaly like the m series better than the sv3. My dad liked the sharp immage and below black representation. I gave him the cable to use on his system. He has a Toshiba dvd player (they are notorious for a sharpe crisp image). I am using the Sony 7000 ref dvd that has been slightly tweeked (they are know for having a more life like image vise the Toshiba''s cinema style image). When stting up the picture in THX set up mode, this cable was able to accurately transfer the data image to the TV. In my set-up, the S-video has to make a sharp 90 deg bend. This cable was able to handle w/no noticable or transferable image degridation. As I have said before, just becuase I had a good experience you will too. Get out there and try them out. Please remember that cables need break in time. Just because you see nothing now does not mean that is what you will see down the road. Demo used cables!! good luck.

Strength:

An okay picture

Weakness:

No noticable difference from my cheap Radio Shack cable

I actually don't like the picture from the Monster Cable S-VHS cable quite as much as the cheap one. It was more than twice the price.

Weakness:

Expensive, fragile

Horrible cable. No difference than "el cheapo" and now snapped off at the connector!!!. They should be ashamed of selling such an over-rated POS.

Strength:

Looks nice!

Weakness:

Poor pin retention

In some locations the weight of this cable tends to pull the ends out of their sockets.
I thought is was mediocre until I bought a Liberty S-400 from onecall.com then I realized the Monster was just plain lousy.
Picture actually looks better with the Liberty ($27) also. Maybe because it makes a more secure connection.

I good cable for the money, it does not have great preformance as the M1000sv has, but it does improve signal transfer from cheapy s-video cables. great product for the videophile on a tight budget. But I would recomend stepping up to the M1000sv.

Just picked up this cable and saw an immediate, noincredible improvement in clarity, brightness,
color and definition. Can,t imagine anyone not seeing
an improvement unless their equipment is not capable
of one.

I just purchased a new sony wega T.V. and figured that while I was spending money, I might as well pick up a decent S-video cable for my dvd player. Both the T.V. and dvd player have dual s-video jacks, so this enabled me to conduct a careful examination of the difference between the 2 dollar s-video cable that came with the dvd player, and the monster cable that I had just bought. The comparison that I conducted enabled me to see immediately that there was no major difference between the two cables. The two products provided the exact same performance except for only one almost unnoticeable difference. The monster cable had a minutely brighter picture that resulted in a slightly more washed out and less defined picture. This difference was extremely small however, and almost not worth mentioning. Just to be sure the comparison was fair, I switched the cable inputs on the T.V. to ensure that the input was not causing the discrepency. Again, I could detect the very small difference. In the end, I actually preferred the cheap cable to the expensive one, but the difference could probably have been compensated for by adjusting the T.V.'s brightness. Basically this means that there is no sense in buying a good s-video cable because the internal wiring of the T.V. is still worse or equal to the cheapo s-video cables supplied with dvd players. I will be returning my cable shortly.

I bought this cable relatively cheap. I thought that there might be an improvement in the SVideo over the "golden end" Radio Shack SVideo cable. After comparing the 2, there was no difference that I could see. I even tried it with my NLE, and noticed no difference. Save the money and head to Radio Shack or used the usually supplied cable.

I have also purchased this cord and there is not a visible difference between this cord and the one that is provided with the units you purchase. I took this cord back for a refund yesterday.

I just bought two of these, and will be returning them both. My DVD player has two s-video outputs, so I was able to do A/B comparisons. Absolutely NO difference between these cables and "El Cheapo" which came with my DVD player. I really wanted to see a difference to justify the use of the cable, but there was NO visual difference.
