Strength:

Clarity, clarity, clarity. Very natural sounding. Great bass, very LOW and natural. Smooth mids and highs, not fatiguing at all.

Weakness:

Could use a little super high end sparkle, but the cables aren't fully broken in yet.

I purchased these cables after reading all the hype and fully understanding the concept behind these cables. ALL cables I have purchased tend to be too damn bright. I use B/W CDM 9NT speakers which are very REVEALING (i.e can be a little bright). With standard cables (high end copper and silver wires), I found the sound to be sometimes a little fatiguing. Even with my all tube equipment. The reason for that is because all cables (other than MIT) are bright by nature. Its the physical charecteristic of wires/ cables that silver, copper, etc. cannot overcome. I know this because my Bro was a Devry student. Did you ever wonder why all amps, receivers, etc have tons of resistors, capacitors, etc inside? If not, it would sound like crap. That's what these cables do, they LINEARIZE the sound. What you see is what you get. You don't get any "artificial" colorations. PS - I've toyed with the idea of building my own silver wire speaker cables and interconnects. After pricing out raw materials, I can't beleiver how OVERPRICED most cables are. You can put together really good cables with top of the line components for less than $30. Don't buy into the hype. If you want silver connects, go to Stouts Interconnects. They sound great and are fairly priced.

Strength:

Tremendous soundstage improvement to mid fi system

Weakness:

If I spent serious cash on a system, I would expect this result already

This began when my Denon CDP bit the dust. I could not afford to buy the CDP I will eventually puchase, so I picked up a cheapo JVC DVD for interim use. (My video standards do not compare to my audio standards) I figured this was better than buying a CDP that I did not want.
Needless to say, it sounded awful. I did the inner tube isolation thing and switched interconnects around. I was desparate.
The interconnect changing revealed a huge difference, so I went adjective searching. I hit the MITerminator2. It had the perfect adjectives for my condition. So I tried a pr. Wow! I got a better localization than I had ever had before.
And better lows. With this cheapo deck, I am now about where I was before the Denon croaked. I really wish I could have heard these with it.

I think they do a fine job, but most of what they do is correct problems. I am skeptical about gizmos, like network boxes. I do hear a huge improvement though.
It helped my Adcom system immensly. If I had paid $4000 for my system, I would expect to hear this already.
I'll rate if 5 for a mid fi system...If I had a hi end system, I would not touch a network box cable.
To add soundstage to Adcom for $80 is irresistable and a great bargain.

Strength:

excellent bass, excellent mids, excellent highs, generally warm sound

Weakness:

none I can find

I got these to go on my CD (my only source) and was blown away that these were better than the Kimber (which I still think are very good). I first got MIT T2 biwire speaker cables for my new Paradigm Reference Studio 100s (of which all the accolades are perfectly true - I could not be happier with them) and was totally transported to a new place when I listed to music. So, when I bought a new Sony CA80ES 5 disc changer, I also got MIT t2s for it and man, am I happy with them. They do expose poor recordings but oh well - the trade off for great transparency. My Mcintosh MC202 amp and C712 preamp expose this too but sound so much better than the Proceed I had before.
Anyway, for $80 these cables are wonderful and I keep getting impressed every time I play music. What more could I ask for? Five stars all around.

I recently installed MIT 2 interlink cables on my home theater system. A huge upgrade from the Monster 350i's I was using. Sorry Monster I am done with your products. I recently bought a Monster AC power cleaner 3500 series, it was defective out of the box, not to mention that out of six cables of the 350i's was defective. I returned all the MONSTERS and have been very pleased with the Panamax 1000 at half the price, and my new cables. I am much more of a Home Theater enthusiast than music listener. These cables have significantly cleaned up my system, not to mention cleaning out my wallet, Well worth it. My only other consideration was Transparent, the cost difference was the reason for going with the MIT. Equipment:
Pre Amp: Marantz AV 9000 DD DTS THX
Amp: Adcom 7500 5.1
Front Speakers: BA VR 960's (about to be upgraded)
Center: Infinity ( a future upgrade project)
Surrounds: BA VR Pro's
DVD: Pioneer 414 DD DTS cheap and worth every pennie
CD: Yamaha 5 disk carousel ( I am using the extra cabled from the packs of MIT 2's as a digital cable to hook up my CD to my Pre Amp ) I did not want to waist a good cable.

I would reccomend these cables to any one wanting to significantly improve the clarity of those little breaking pieces of glass, or the chase scenes through Paris in Ronin. As for music improvement, I just do not listen to enough to say. I am going with four stars for that reason. For the home theater junky they are a five.

At the time back in Jan of "96" i was residing in wonderful Orlando FL but sorry to say ended back in
NJ (BLA).Well anyway one gorgous early afternoon
drove over to a mid to highend AV shop knowing
absolutley nill about AV except to stayaway from mass
market large AV dept stores (where most of the people
that visit this great site end up spending thier hard
earned cash). You know where the sales people much of
the time may be less informed than the buyer. Many of
us seem to end up a dissatisfied camper when over
another`s better sounding jaw dropping i can`t
believe how good this sounds & looks , has anybody
expierenced this , you say whow bet you spent a
ton, where did you get it at,i spent (i bet between 5k
to 10,15 bet many of you more). So far this is i,when
in this dealer a knolgable (cant spell 4 sh t) sales
person started to ask the right questions like what
was i trying to achive, buget my answer was HT , enjoy
renting vcr tapes & would like a dolby prologic setup
& not spending a bundle.Well mind you not in a ciruit
city type store, good salesman really giving me a
basic understanding quick education of the choices
thats available & new and upcoming surround formats
and the importance of leaving the future open to even
formats not heard of yet. Mind you this was Jan 96 he
was telling me about DTS & DD. Armed with this
information he than started to show me whats
advailable starting with the lest price tags, pros &
cons of the unit, the kind of performance with the
unit, these were prepros from companys like AMC
av81htThx, Acurus act1, Carver ct26v but recommended
the Chiro c800 & c500 amp which at the time was a
damm good recommandation to me not knowing suat, he
informed me that in near future the company would be
coming out with a 5.1 add on adapter offering Dolby
Digital (called AC3 then) plus DTS (whats that) and
the importance of the 5.1 input on the c800. Point
taken try to get this kind of information from jr at
your closest WIZ or Circuit City and you might spend
foolish money on some infearior reciever and bad
sounding speakers with some terrible monster cable
(sorry monster but we expect better from you, stop
ripping off the good people they would be much better
off using the cable that comes with the componet &
save 40 or 50 per pair). So lets move on, after
deciding the Chiro was what i had to have, boy did it
have looks and sex appeal and could perform.Well im
looking at 4k prepro & amp and just starting to get
my feet wet in the sea of highend.I told the salesman
movies were more important than the music after him
telling me that there is a trade off between speakers
being used for movies & music, I choose movies
mistake number 1 not reliesing how much music means
to me. The good salesman he was showed me the
Definitive BP8`s only 400 a pair retail some small
surrounds forget model # and center ch for BP8`s
trying to keep cost down.He procceded to put jurassic
pk on a pioneer LD player moved over to the scene
where those damm giant birds started running past
followed by the star of the flix MR.T-REX, this good
salesman he was set the volume had to be over 100db
and OH MY LORD THOSE GIANT BIRDS I COULD FEEL THEM
RUNNING PAST ME THEN THUNDER T REX CHASING AND
FEEDING TRULY AN EXPIERENCE TO THIS DAY WAS NOTHING I
HAVE EVER HEARD OR FELT EVEN IN A GOOD MOVIE THEATER
it was as if i were part of the scene and it wasn`t a
movie it sounded so terrifing so clear more clear
than real life so loud big screen no distortion the
hair on my body was standing straight goose bumps the
air around me was moving loud real loud so loud and
crystal clear let me out of here where is the volume
control turn it down i wasn`t expecting this I GOT TO
HAVE THIS ITS AWSOME I SURRENDER I`M HOOKED meanwhile
the room i felt i was inprisoned in with its sliding
glass doors and the man who inprisioned me standing
outside the glass and watching me with his smile
getting enjoyment out of giving such an expierence he
was more than just a salesperson he enjoyed giving
this demonstration he was into what he was doing.
GUESS what folkes i couldn`t afford it but i had to
have it I thanked him said i will be back not knowing
how the hell i was going to afford this. OH i almost
forgot to mention when i walked out of that room and
looked at the salesman in shock not saying a word he
smiled and said and thats without a subwoffer and
being run through a pioneer elit reciever model
unknown as if putting down the reciever.Mike what in the world has this to do with mit2 interconnect, sounds like your life history ?? Well we come this far lets walk further.WELL that was Jan 96 and had to know more started buying all the magizines and reading all the reviews and all the updates and all the horsecrap that these so called reviewers were saying but i was green and broke and the closest to my HT was the front picture of the next magizine.April of 96 had to move out of my great little apt in Orlando rough it for another month at a friends then moved back to Jersey and work for a family member (mistake) any way had 12k for HT set up.Well here comes all the mistakes now, having as i felt 12k to spend and have to start from scratch witch is a good place to start. Mind you i really know very little just enough to make expensive mistakes and take in that im thick headed and think i know something , well i have 10 stacks of magizines and how can you go wrong with all of these good reviews from all the great reviewers. I must be very niave to believe what im reading and trusting these magazines. If your considering to spend hard or easy funds for me its hard on home theater it can cost a small fortune, for myself ringing up the tally and im at the 20k mark and dont have DTS . Remember the AV store in Orlando and all the good info from that Verygood salesman and the great demo that started me off What the heck i do with that good info and being up to date reading all the articals.I tried to get everything at once with the 12k instead of planning. Im spending a lot of time in this so called review of mine but if i can save only one person from wasting money and end up with a very high quility HT that will withstand time let it be. Im not going to get into my 20k class C system.I will give my recommended List
For television the larger the screen the larger the theater expierence basic rule the hieght of the viewing area X 5 back.Witch means if the screen height is 30 in your seating should be 5 times the distance or 150 inches from the screen. THE BEST front projection ( expensive but the way to go if you have the greenbacks and the space ) VERY GOOD and afordable rear projection , reconmendation all i can say is pioneer elit not cheap but flat out great picture go for the widescreen version a perfect start for top notch viewing. Good direct view, well the sharpest picture, downside not a large screen WHAT to look for ----- enough inputs on rear of set the more inputs the greater flexibility you will have S-Video alot of sets have only one but two or more can make life alot easier COMPONET VIDEO if buying a new set make sure it has componet video (dvd players have componet video outputs) THE AV PROCESSOR small budget choices are ACURUS act3 B&K reference20 BOB CARVERS CINEMA GRAND bigger budget and really where i would start
THETA CASANOVA (check this one out nice) CLASSE SSP 25 (another sexy creature)
now here is where its at you may say thats why your called mentalmike sounds like too much mula but just let me state that a few years down line and the 10 to 20k you fork over to the hifi man driving the benz is going to be obsolete you may end up with the B&K class c system or the act 3 or god forbid the Marantz 550 then go to this site and tell us all how wonderful life is or isn`t but all you audio nuts these pieces of audio bless in this section will still be bringing you joy 10 years or more from now and will stay up to date with future upgrades which make them a bargan and future classics THATA CASABLANCA (world class) PROCEED AVP (why are so many lawyars buying this piece not because thier stupid fool) Some of you may say why not the KRELL A&V STANDARD you have the other high priced units here well because i don`t see the lawyers going banannas over them must be some of that KRELL HYPE that seems to show up here & there AMPS well here is where alot of us start making bobo`s life is not this easy because there is different parameters envolved (ive learned this from the big boys out there) for instance your choice of speakers play a roll in your choice of amps you dont want to mate a amp with a brite top end to speakers with a brite sound bad system matching you all heard of that all i can say now is you have to do some work of your own go to reputable high end dealers bring your choices home in your listening room match up the amps cables and speakers the dealers should be of good help in helping you out with matching up you are now what is called an audiophill iam tired say goodnite

Strength:

better than Radio Shack

Weakness:

performance to price

This cable is better than your stock cables but the actual benefits do not really justify the price. I really feel that if you like the MIT sound, the MIT 330 Plus model is a much much better choice . The low frequency have much more authority and images and soundstage are much more focused. I've seen the 330 Plus for about $150 on clearance at Audio Advisor, that is bang for the buck.

MIT Terminator 2 interconnect

Well the Audio Advisor bug bit me after I upgraded my preamp to a Sonographe SC26 (previously a Forte Model 40). Had been using the Tara cables between pre and power amp, but this preamp for some reason does a ground loop when it is put into mute mode with those cables and the PBJ. It appears that the ground wire termination is the culprit here, as the Monster stuff is dead quiet in mute. OK, so while looking for a suitable (non hum inducing) interconnect I decided to give the MIT stuff a try because of 1) the hype around their network boxes, 2) Audio Advisor has much of the Terminator line heavily discounted and 3) I didn't want to put some awful Monster back in my system.

Well, long story short, these cables (the interconnects) are nothing short of spectacular. Bass definition and weight much improved, gobs of slam; midrange sounds right (Diana Krall never sounded better on this system) and high is smooth and clear, airier as I can hear much more low level details in the treble range (things like slight master tape hiss that was previously obscured), cymbals have a natural shimmer. Soundstaging is clearly more dimensional than before and rock solid.

All of this was before the official break-in period was anywhere near over. They seem to improve with time, but out of the box the difference in presentation was immediate and certainly not neglegable.

As far as the ground loop hum during mute, well they do it too but not anywhere nearly as loud as the Tara or Kimber probably due to the network box in the line as opposed to continuous wire. Sure, I wish it was silent, but I think that I can live with the much quieter hum on the few occasions I mute the preamp. The unveiling of detail in my system is that impressive that I will overlook this minor glitch (not the cable's fault) in my system. Sounds better than my Tara did and much better than Kimber PBJ (which isn't a bad cable). I have not tried Audio Quest cables yet, but have some Jade on order for a non critical connection. I don't anticipate that they will threaten the MIT, but I'm curious to try them just to see if they cause a ground loop with the preamp.

Thoughts on Monster cable: an improvement for mass market audio gear because it hides their faults well. Put Monster in a system capable of some good resolution and they will obscure detail and soundstaging.

Strength:

It gives a nice warmth to the sound from digital sources

Weakness:

A weakness to me is the rca connectors..like the monster locking plugs

If you are thinking of buying these, and like me you move your equipment around a lot, do yourself a favor a buy the 330 series with the "new" style locking plugs. You insert them and then tighten a retaining ring. The T2 you have to twist then counterclockwise to get them off, fine but if you have two sets of them for something like pre-amp main-in then they are to close to twist and pull. Is like pulling teeth(or the components female rca)to get them out. Otherwise they are a fine sounding cable. I paid around the 50-60 used price for these. I paid $120 for the 330. The 330's seem like much made made cables, I will sell my T2 and get more 330. The sound is quite warm from both cables, the treble is much more laid back. For equipment like mine, the MIT line is a good product to try. Buy from audio advisor and try them for 30 days.

My equipment

Onkyo TX-SV90 Pro receiver
MIT Terminator II IC
Onkyo EQ-25
MIT Terminator II IC
Denon DCM-560 cd player
MIT 330 series II IC
B&W V202 speakers
Monster Cable Z1 reference speaker cable (am debating whether to keep these and get T2 speaker cable)

As you can see, my stereo is very mainstream, and I believe that the MIT are very good choice for someone who has a bright system like mine. Unless you are going to buy audiophile equipement, then the MIT is a good choice. These cables are about the same price as the monsters, do yourself and yours ears a favor and check them out. But pop for the 330 if you can swing it.
