Bottom Line:
I bought a pair of FJ Minis (made by Blumenhofer Acoustics in Germany) used from the original owner for $500. I was looking for something small to use in bedroom system with my all in one box Linn Classik Music, Tuner, CD, Amp Combo. I expected nothing fancy at this size and price. Boy, was I in for a very pleasant surprise. First, these are built like a tank out of thick furniture grade wood. And the sound you ask? Unbelievably good for their modest dimensions with excellent bottom to top tonal balance. Not dull, not too bright, in fact just about perfect. These are bookshelf speakers that you could actually use in a book shelf. Imagine that! I positioned the rear firing port about 6 - 7 inches from the rear wall and got a tonal balance that sound like a $5,000 3 way floor stander. If you have smallish room, condo, mobile home, office, yacht but still insist on audiophile sound quality, I have never heard anything this good. Even at list price, this is a bargain and if you can pick up some used in good you'll be grinning for years to come at the wisdom of your decision.
