Toshiba TP50H60 Rear Projection

Toshiba TP50H60 Rear Projection

DESCRIPTION

Toshiba 50-inch High-Contrast Dark Tint Screen With Built-in Protective Cover - Toshiba is dedicated to total picture performance. That's why the TP50H60 features 7-inch Hi-Bright Electrostatic CRTs instead of the competition's 3- or 5-inch tubes. The CRTs have Large Aperture Electron Guns and a negative radius design for consistent corner-to-corner sharpness. The Dark-Tint screen improves contrast as much as 18% for bolder, richer colors. The screen's Surface Layer Diffuser also lets more light through for an even brighter picture. A digital comb filter practically eliminates dot-crawl and color-interference. The result is an exceptionally accurate picture with uniform brightness across the entire screen. And the built-in cover protects the screen from accidental damage.

2-Tuner Picture-in-Picture (PIP) - Want to keep your eye on the playoffs and your favorite comedy - at the same time? The TP50H60 has two built-in tuners so you can watch two channels simultaneously. Simply press the PIP window key on the remote (1/9th or 1/16th the screen size) and position it in any corner. Each picture is processed separately, ensuring excellent color clarity and sharpness.

Multi-Window (Channel Preview, Favorite Channel, Strobe) - Channel surfing has never been easier - or more convenient. Once you've chosen your FAVORITE CHANNELS, press a button and you'll see nine windows with your favorite programs on view. One-touch and you can ""surf"" right to it. With the CHANNEL PREVIEW feature, six windows appear on screen, regularly scrolling through all the channels on your system. And with STROBE, you can watch exciting action as a series of frames, stepping through them one at time.

37-Key Back-Lit Intelligent Universal Remote Control - No more fumbling for the right remote control buttons in darkened home theaters. The TP50H60 has a back-lit remote with an illuminated keypad for effortless operation. The intelligent remote can ""learn"" the commands of other remotes in your system.

Strength:

Excellent picture, easy to use menu system, cool remote, toshiba quality.

Weakness:

none that I can find

I have had this TV for over 3 years now, without any problems what so ever. The picture quality is very good, I have the optional screen cover and this works good at protecting the screen. It also helps looking at the TV from an angle, I looked at the Mitsubishi and sony models and they do not compare to this model, works great, good value, and has been reliable to this point

Strength:

Great picture, Many menu items to toggle the picture to your liking.

Weakness:

Other than it busting on me after only 3 years, they were no other weaknesses...other than workmanship.

Hmph! Blasted TV busted after 3 years of use! Apparently, it is the convergence amps as the LED light up front continues to blink when I turn it on. Gonna set me back more than $400! I simply wanted a reliable big screen TV and unfortunately, I didn't get it!

1st big screen...and probably the LAST! Thanks Toshiba!
