Bottom Line:
Being a low end audio piece, the Apple Hi-Fi sounds pretty good for the price and what it is. But, for the price I would have hoped for something a little more ergonomic and better designed. For one, the Ipod sticks out the top of the box, inviting something to tear it off. This also limits placement of the box.

Another thing is there is no video out so one cannot hook the Hi-Fi to a television to look at pictures, video, or most importantly, menu choices or album art. This doesn't matter since the silly little clicker that comes with the Hi-Fi only allows changing volume and track. The only way to change playlist or album is to either push on the Ipod menu buttons while it is docked (which seems that it would be hard on the port) or remove the Ipod and change selection (which also seems hard on the port).

I have a Polk miDock10 in the office and it just seems to be a little bit better designed. I haven't played them side-by-side but the audio seems to be comparable (Polk is near-field, Hi-Fi is more far-field).
