Great product. Outperforms any receiver I have ssen for this price and running after 10 years without the slightest wear. It doesn ot have any gadgets to play with but it plays you wonderful warm music with sufficient power when you need. I had not problem at parties were friends did not want to believe this thing has some simple 20 watts mechanic mobile service

One thing to note - I upgraded the power supply cable from day 1 (a not unsignifcant AUD$350) but I could tell a noticable difference. I also upgraded the power to my Cambrigde 500SE CD player (another marked improvement to the feeling of airyness - especially for female vocals). Carmichael Bounce House Rental

I bought this to try out a Counterpoint 3000 preamp I was selling just to make sure the pre was working properly.Running a Roksan Radius with Benz Wood H and Proac 2.5 speakers.All high end Tara Labs cables. I was astounded at how good this $200 used little amp sounds.I had run Ayre Belles AR tube amps and many other high end expensive amps with this system and I was astounded how good this amp sounds.My Proacs are quite efficient so the Rotel drives them easily this is a keeper so now I am also keeping the Counterpoint this is the best sounding combo I have had and I have spent 10 times this much before. 4 out of 5 because nothing is perfect

You can probably improve on the bass control if you spend another $3000

If any, it would be the speaker connections. Too much plastic for a power amp like this.

Found this amp collecting dust in my Grandmothers basement. She's a casual listener and didn't want the multiple component set-up, so she got a all in one Bose unit for a replacement. It sat there in the basement for years until Christmas when I decided to see if it still worked as I needed a receiver for the man cave. Honestly the best Christmas I've had because it works perfectly and since it belonged to my Grandfather, it's a great way to keep his memory going strong every time I jam out to some tunes.

Given the age of this amp I was a little reluctant to buy it but a friend of mine recommended Rotel being a good product. I've only ever owned Pioneer and Harman Kardon. After finding one advertised for sale locally and after reading some reviews I thought it might just fit my needs for a second room i wanted to play music in.

Im using the the Rotel RB850 to run a pair of BW 685 speakers on stands and they sound great! I was using a Pioneer VSX-1018AH to play them with and I would say the Rotel sounds just as good if not better then the Pioneer!
