I cannot detect any

I am using the Nagra MPA power amplifier more than two years. I was once tempted to sell it, but fortunately I changed my mind. The best description I can make of the Nagra MPA sound is utter refinement. The different Concertos of F. Couperin, as played by Leonhardt and Kujiken brothers on authentic instruments, could not sound any better. Clear crisp sound, full of energy and aristocratic flare. The Glenn Gould Bach recordings made me choose the Nagra, in a group test of four power amps in a price range up to 15,000 euros. It was the first time in my life that I heard the attack on the notes as exactly I have imagined it should sound. In symphonic and orchestral music, the sound is full-bodied, with extraordinary presence and vitality. The Nagra MPA can lift the last veils over the orchestra and present a transparent image with an accurate sense of depth, starting from the violins in front and going back to the timpani. The ambient sounds are also present, transfering the listener directly to the venue of recording. Vocal polyphony of the Flanders Rennaissance is a marvel to enjoy for hours. Human voices and choirs are absolutely thrilling with their natural timbre and neutral, almost austere accuracy. And of course, every time, I am transfered in cloisters and cathedrals around Europe. Baroque viols, romantic chamber music and operas are also extremely attractive to listen to without fatigue for many hours. Either one wants to relax or to pay attention to the music the Nagra is always helpful. 20th century avantgarde (Xenakis, Berio, Nono), through the Nagra seem to me as a quasi-religious experience. Finally, the service from Nagra, Switzerland is excellent. They have promptly responded to my emails and requests in a very proffessional way.
