I was lucky enough to find two Grande 3's at an estate sale for a fraction of the original price. The upside is they sounded great for many years, equipped with massive power and depth of field The downside is that they are not aging well. Both of my 10 plus year old amps have burst into flames while simply sitting idle, powered on, without any signal passing through them. In both cases the power supply capacitors were the culprit. Luckily the fireworks show was contained within the massive steel cage and my house did not go up in flames too!
The Cinenova 3 should be subject to recall as a result of failing power supply capacitors that spontaneously burst into flames.
The company must be aware of the issue as shown on the eartquake audio website, the more recent chassis builds have 4 power supply caps were as these earlier versions Have only 2.

Wow! I can't believe how clean this amp sounds at high volume, I got this amp in 2008 to replace my Rotel RB-993 which was a great amp, my only complaint was I could seriously cook an egg on it that was how hot it ran, the earthquake runs cool even after a two hour action movie, can't wait to buy a 5 channel earthquake amp and five def tech speakers to complete my dedicated theatre room when I move into a larger house in four years.

Strength:

Power, Power, Power. Heavy, Heavy, Heavy

Weakness:

None...unless you don't lift weights!

Bought Cinenova 3 to run front 3 speakers. Moved Rotel 3 channel x 200 to the back. Somehow the Cinenova NEVER runs hot, and is pure POWER. My old Rotel is very hot to the touch, even though its running the rears. Bass much tighter, and overall sound is very dynamic throughout(lows to highs). Made my old B&W P5's sound great! No need for new speakers now. Although, Earthquake is coming out with a new Titan speaker, which I can't wait to hear!

Strength:

Power, Clearity, and looks!

Weakness:

I need one more 3 channel amp!

This is one great amp! It replace my Aragon amp and It just blew the Aragon away for power and clearity. It is very heavy and it looks great. If you want to much power and great sound this is for you, just need strong amp rack.

Strength:

Clean, effortless power. Runs cool, looks cool!

Weakness:

Power Cord.

I purchased 2 of these 3 channel Amps for my home theater to replace my Classe CAM 200 Mono Blocks. Believe me this was not an easy decision to make!I read the great review in Home Theater Mag and was very interested, finally heard them and had to have them! These Amps are shipped in wooden crates and as you already have heard a hundred times, weigh a ton. These Amps are very transparent and the more you drive them the better they sound.Replace the power cord with a very good quality aftermarket cord. I have tried BMI Whale elite MK2's, but settled on Signal Cable 20 Amp power cords.I don't understand why these Amps have not had the recognition they deserve by the Audio community!
