Can I find exponentially better amps than the Amp 3 that would justify a much greater expenditure? I'm not so sure. But that is the great debate about sound gear.. Trailer Repair

Very transparent preamp. And very simple. After 35 years of use, I believe that highest frequencies are a bit subdued, but then again it might be my 50 years old ears. I have a pair C1-M1 preamp and amp that go together. Dynamics in music is very good, detail also. It has a tiny bit of laid back sound compared to some modern hi-fi gear, i.e. Hegel. But if you can get your hands on a well preserved and taken care specimen, take your chance.

Cymbals do not have that lively sound as they should, but may be it is due to other mediocre components in my system
