Bottom Line:
I am very happy with my apmlifier. I listen many hours of music every week. The speakers used are B&W Matrix 804 speakers. For the kind of music I listen to ( Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, It is a great Speaker for. First the amp must be warmed-up properly before the sound is perfect. Good quality speakercables and interlinks are recuired.

Bottom Line:
This is a GREAT integrated amplifier! Compares very, very favorably to Class A Pass Aleph (I have both). Tube like midrange, warm articulate sound, full bass, low distortion. Plenty of power.

Needs warm up to give the cleanest treble (ever so slightly splashy when cold). Maybe not iron control of the absolute bottom end (Gallo Ref 3.1 speakers), but it's all there.

Great phono section, quiet, extended and detailed. Amp runs much cooler than the Aleph, which makes me think either the heatsinks are way oversized for the job or the amp is really only Class A for part of its power range. Certainly SOUNDS Class A to me!

I love everything about it, including its luxurious look and feel. No remote control but you can't always have everything. A truly excellent, classic piece of audio history!

upgraded from A2.the 25 more Watts of power made the bass deeper and tighter.highs and mids are better than A2 too.i should go for the A220 earlier.

Bottom Line:
I have really enjoyed my A220, however if you want more power then a pair of XA50 mono blocks can be used from the per outs for Bi Amping. Although the XA 50's are only 50 watts the gain is the same and you end up with all the head room you could need and it firms the bass.

Bottom Line:
One of the most enjoyable amps i've used -warm, detailed, powerful, not at all tiring to listen to unlike some 'class a'
amps. I've tried upgrading but keep going back to this amp. Looks & sounds great - if you can find one second hand it's definitely worth a listen.
