The sphinx combination of the project two pre-amp and the project twelve mono-amps offers a great listening sensation. Transparant, powerfull, stable and dynamic sound are just a few words to describe my opinion about this amplifier. Detail is incredible and sometimes (for example when listening to Amused To Death or Dark Side Of The Moon) even scary.I've had a Marantz PM-80IISe before but there's no way that this amplifier can meet with the sphinx (Of course I have to mention the difference in price, the sphinx combination costs about $ 3500 more, so it should sound better I guess.)
I believe I can put almost any speaker on this amp without ever pushing it to the limits. It's natural and powerfull character will remain unchanged.

Strength:

Detailed, powerfull, enormous soundstaging capability, can drive any speaker, total control, fast power delivery

Weakness:

None

Outstanding performance, i use 4 Project 12 amps (bi-amping) in combination with the Project 2 preamp. The soundstage really is enormous, instruments sound very natural, even the smallest detail is perfect in place and the overall sound is well balanced and in total control.
I think the pure silver internal cabling (Siltech) and the tremendous power supply are the main reason for the outstanding perfomance and detailed sound reproduction.
