The QED Silver Anniversary speaker cable is not the stuff to use with these speakers. I then promptly went out and listened extensively to different cables. In the end i came home with some Van Den Hul Teatrack (£25/m), whcih has really made all the difference. Bass is nicely extended without loss of treble detail. Now I can happily listen for hours, to a system which is actually on the warm side and very smooth. transmission repair

This is a monster of an amp! Unbelievable power that takes control of any speakers I threw at them from the likes of psb, revel, celestion, triangle, definitive technology, down to the budget Andrew Jones designed pioneers. This nad sounds more robust than my sunfire amplifier, warmer than the Krell kav, and ATIs, but not lacking in detail. Even though the Parasound JC1s are better, this nad does not disappoint. If you buy these amps used and have your tech update the parts(b/c of age) you will have a very nice multi-channel amplifier that will be the backbone of your home theater for years to come.

This genius bought a faulty amp, from a dubious eBayer, for a cabinet too small to house it. No wonder he had trouble counting from 1-7. Finally, to prove his competancy; he proclaimed the unit's heavey weight as a definite negative. Provided you buy from NAD or buy smart, secondhand, there is no better value for money amplifier at its price. Enjoy your inferior Rotel gear, Alexander. :/

Good sound

Reliability, quality control, cooling fans should be replace once in a while, and very expensive.

I had made a big mistake by buying this amplifier on EBay.
This amplifier sounds good, though there are obvious problems with quality control.
1. Different channels not calibrated on volume and potentiometer settings are very different.
2. Connecting channels to speakers are rather tricky, because of markings such as 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 and not like FR, FL, CC, SR, SL, RR, and RL.
3. The biggest problem with this AMP is cooling fans, that with the time can get very noisy, and this is was the problem with the amplifier that I had bought.
4. Another issue is size and weight, id did not fit in my wall unit a I have exercise a great care when I have to lift it.

Fan noise was driving me off the wall and when I contacted NAD, their answer was to pay 150 dollars for 3 new fans and for 2 hrs labor to replace them.

none really, but the amp is about 70 pounds dont use no cheap rack.

recently purchased this amp. its listed as 140 wpc into 7 channels, its got to be about 200 it has power to burn. replaced my amc 5 channel 150 wpc amp. there really is no comparison this is a dream amp i am hearing things i never heard befoe. great amp.
