Last year I decided to treat myself and upgrade my Mission Cyrus amp and Marantz 67SE MKII CD with a LINN Genki/Kolektor/LK140 combination. It sounded great in the shop but when I got it home I was underwhelmed. It was better than my old system, but not much. Akron truck repair company

Strength:

Mids and presentation of the music. Non-fatiguing, and rich sound.

Weakness:

LAcks some detail and definition

This is an amazing amplifier. I "downgraded" my system from a Krell 300i to this. WHile the Krell exceeds the Acurus (B&K PT-3 Preamp) in almost everything, it is not by all that much. THe acurus adds a rich warmth to my sound now. It keeps detail, though it rounds off somewhat in the upper frequencies. The nids are what really make this amp my new found favorite. Surprisingly, the amp has now become discontinued, being the only real drawback to investing in something like this.

Strength:

Very acurate and "passionate". Excels in live recordings.

Weakness:

None for the price.

My only reference point is a Rotel RB-1070 wich is on the same price range. I demo both units from a dealer and found the A100 to deliver the bass segment with a little more "attitude", without being boomy or muddy. Definitively superior in live recordings. The mid and hi end of the spectrum are very crisp and clear, deliverd with the same wit as the lower end. I am very happy with its performance and build quality. Strength:

Overall sound balance Power and Bass control Price, Build quality and Reliability (I love Mondial amps, Aragon and Acurus)

Weakness:

None

I was not expecting much performance at such a low price but this amp is a steal. I have more expensive amps like Aragon and Musical Fidelity, the Acurus A100 pumps out 80% of performance at 20% price. Mondial amps (Acurus and Aragon) have different characteristics from British amps such as Musical Fidelity, you can have choices according to your taste, but it''s really hard to find any shortcoming of ANY Mondial amps, those guys know how to make amps!

Built quality. Not heavy, nice look.

Weakness:

Needs warming up for noticeable music improvement.

I bought this amp mainly for its price , a demo unit actually. Nice amp with good bass and musicality. It''s probably not the best ever amp but a very good to consider.

I was not expecting this amp to be very powerful since it only weighs 19lbs., I was proven wrong. This amp is quite a performer, it is smooth, musical, and powerful. I would highly recommend it.

Strength:

warm smooth sound, yet retains detail

Weakness:

takes some warming up, but when it's warm it's great

I listened to this piece for the first time next to a parasound HCA-100a with an acurus rl-11 preamp. The Parasound was nice, but the acurus was music. Once it warms up, (or possibly my ears start listening properly) it improves to a level of quality I've not heard in my listening to any amps under $950 monoblocks. It retains detail and texture, but also has great punch and is warm and smooth to boot. This is a combination few amps posess. The parasound was detailed and puchy, but the top end was screechy next to the smooth cymbals the Acurus put out. Only tubes are smooth and warm like this, and they sacrifice detail compared to this refined little beauty. Of special note-This amp only ways ninenteen pounds, but that is because it has no heatsinks. It's power supply has great capacitance, and runs cooler than any amp I've ever seen.
