Very nice unit. Would have to say like most reviews of this unit that the remote really sucks! But the performance of the receiver does rock! When I bought this unit I had my old speaker line up was Sound Dynamics 300ti for mains, then SD centre and rears and SD 12in sub. Since then have upgraded to Energy
Ref Con Rc 70 7.1 set up. Then there was a great improvment with sound quality.
So I think pairing up this receiver with higher quality speakers really makes this unit shine. The vsx 94 txh is pretty much future proof, at least for a couple of years. lol. Set up is fairly easy if your abilities are good. Sound quality is 5 out 5, build is 5 out 5, up convert to 1080 is 4 out 5, remote is 3 out 5,
So in conclusion , would say if paired up with good to great speakers this unit really performed.

I purchased this receiver 5 months ago, the initial set up was easy, the receiver does it automatically, but if you want to do it manually you need a TV and patience, I did not like the idea of such complication for the manual setup. The remote control is very unfriendly and full of buttons you will burly use, and fur functions such as CD you have to us both hands to pres to buttons, ridiculous. The sound quality is good, and the power more than what I need. A month ago the USB reader port and satellite set up are not longer available in the remote control. I have to send the heavy receiver to US to be repair because the warranty only applies there. So the repair is free but to send it back and for cost a lot. Very unreliable receiver, I guess because of so much sophistication. I don’t think the listening setups should make you determine what is the best way to listens to music.
