Electonics. Just two years after purchasing this TV set, the "flyback transformer" failed. Power LED onfront console would continually flash "on and off". Raster would not "fire-up". Expensive repair - more than half the cost of the telivision new. Until this happened, I was completely thrilled with the television, but this really soured me on Samsung. I was prepared to purchase one of their HDTV sets ( TSL-329xHF ), but now I''m concerned that this may well happen to it as well.

Samsung TXG-2045 20" Color Television

This television is one of the best I've ever had for the price. It has a comb filter, which is somewhat unusual for this price range and size. I originally purchased this as a "bedroom" viewer, but soon moved it to a more occupied room, replacing a new Sanyo 19". The remote control is pretty good, and the sound is more than adequate. It has really shown no weaknesses. I also have owned Sony (not as good as they used to be), Panasonic (ditto), Toshiba (not bad), Magnavox (not good), and the aforementioned Sanyo (OK). The Samsung is head-and-shoulders above them all, even though some of the others were bigger and pricier. Highly recommended!
