Strength:

Can put any sound on a CD. Great for arranging music performance trax.

Weakness:

Can only use "For Consumer Use Only" CDRs which usally cost about $3USD unless you by bulk. No AES/EBU digital input or Balanced inputs/outputs.

For the price I bought it at about $300 bucks I can't complain. So much more easier then using the MiniDisc unit I had. CD players are more common than the MiniDisc I used to burn. I like the 3 sets of Inputs and outputs, -RCA Analog (gold plated), -Coaxial Digital, and the Optical. Great for recording straight from my keyboard, or other digital sources. Easy to use, especially when recording with the digital sync, you can basically "Set-it, and forget it” by the time you come back you have a finalized CD ready to play. I am very satisfied with this unit. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't have Balanced inputs/outputs or AES/EBU digital input, and it doesn't ignore SCSM. If I had the money I probably would have bought the HHB CDR850, it has the AES/EBU digital input, Balanced in/outs as well. And ignores SCSM.

Strength:

Recordings are near perfect, A very good CD player when used as a transport.

Weakness:

Remote buttons are small, recording level knob for adjusting feels cheap, Only records consumer audio CDR's

I have been using this product alot over the last 6 months and is working and recording perfectly. Whether Recording vinyl Lp's or CD's and even DVD/DAD's I cannot complain about this unit. It records everything in the 16 bit 44.1 Khz. sampling rates and does it well. When using it as a CD player I have it going through a MSB Link DacI to a Perreux pre amp and Krell Mono block amps to a pair of ADS 1590II's speakers all connected with Harmonic Technology cables. I can't stop listening! This CD recorder will make your LP collection come to life any way you connect into it. The only thing you should recognize is that it only records the expensive consumer audio CDR's not the cheaper computer style CDR's. I have not tried using it's rewriteable section yet. For 650.00 Canadian dollars this is a good deal.
