I have purchased the JBL SCS 125 package, 5 mini speakers with a sub, I love it. I hear notes from these speakers that I have not heard before on other systems that I have purchased, i e. Pioneer home stereo package. These speakers come complete with all mounting hardware, they are small in size but make that up in sound performance. I would not give this set up just for a change of speakers, they rock...

I recently purchased the JBL SCS125 system and I am in love. Having pieced home theater speaker parts together for some time now I was shocked at how well a complete system performed. I love the JBL SCS125 system! I feel like I never have to go to the theater again. The powered sub gets real low and real loud. The five satilites are discrete and not overbearing. Viva le JBL!!!

Strength:

Powerful, well built, excelent price

I bought this set about 3 weeks, to conect to my also new Yamaha rx-v395. And keeping im mind what someone who knows told me to put the sub close to the front speakers (because the crossover point between the sub-woofer and the satallite speakers is at a relatively high frequency) and after trying several positions of the sub the guy was right.
After this tests the all set become awesome, very powerful and makes a good match with my receiver.

I bought these speakers about three years ago and have been rewarded with clear faithfull performance ever since. Since all five sats are identical, tonal balance is a non isue. their smallish size makes trial room positions a no brainer. While these are no Legecy Whispers, the overall performance on movie soundtracks is simply impressive when combined with my Sony ES reciever. If you don't care about what your "friends" or the advritisements say, These are the speakers for you.

** This review is actually for the JBL SCS-135 system **

Speakers were the hardest part of my home theater system to decide on. There were 2 main decisions to make: cube system or floorstanding full system and how much to spend for the speaker set. I leaned towards the cube type system due to space limitations - one decision made. Now I was faced with which cube system to go with. Based on availability (both online and locally), the decision was between Bose, Cambridge Soundworks, Polk, and the JBL system. The comparing price and performance, the Bose were eliminated first. The Bose is a great system, but not THAT great. Now between the other 3 contenders, the sound was similar. The JBL definitely won in the looks department. As far as sound goes, to get comprable sound from the Cambrige Soundworks and Polk system, I would have had to spend at minimum $400. That price is not terribe at all for what your getting, but compared to the deal I found on the JBL ($285 plus shipping), the decision was made. It is quite difficult to find the CS and Polk systems sold anywhere, let alone get a deal on them. When I came across the JBL system deal, I couldn't pass it up.

I've had the speaker system for about 2 months now. The music is good, especially at higher volumes. At lower volumes, the music is OK. The subwoofer, both for music and home theater is awsome!! The system used on home theater is incredible!! The cube speakers are strategically placed throughout my apt. The result is a great DVD experience. The explosions are the greatest!! The combination of size, performance, and price made the JBL SCS-135 the best value around!!
