Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $75.00 from Sound Oddessey

Summary:
I have learned a valuable lesson over the years that reducing "noise" is the key to reproduced music. My system now contains many "noise lowering" devices: Power plant 300 with Multiwave II. High current Ultimate Outlet. Two Blue Circle 86 MkIII Noise Hounds. Cable Jackets JPS Labs Digital Cable on my Meridian 588. I am always on the look-out for other fine products so purchased and installed the large purifiers on the positive side only of my Magnepan 1.6 QR speakers which have already been modified with Jensen paper-in-oil capacitors and Alpha Core inducters. My installation was after the cross-over. I also treated both the positive and negative side of my Mirage BPS 400 subwoofer after the cross-over network. WOW! The bass is outstanding with great leading edge attack and articulation. Transparency has increased and detail retrieval has improved without bringing an analytical nature to the music which seems to have relaxed and increased dynamics at the same time. Strange but true. All of the other characteristics described by the previous reviewer were achieved in my installation. I will be placing my order for purifiers for the negative side of the speakers today to complete the improvement. Try these little wonders for yourself. It is like spending $2000 more for a better cd player.

Strengths:
Detail and smooth relaxation at the same time.

Weaknesses:
None

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $170.00 from cryotweaks.com

Summary:
I can't believe that there are so few reviews about the Bybees here. This review is for a pair of raw Bybee Quantum Purifiers used in positive speaker cable leads. The benefits of the Bybees need to be heard to be believed! I exhort you to take the "risk" of trying them. They are suposed to work better internally on speakers but used as "spade" gave excellent results. I will list the benefits in usual "audiophile" language but you surelly won't get the whole picture. Nobody knows exactly how they work but, who cares? All I know is that when reproducing music by electronic means something is lost that makes music sound unnatural. Well, the Bybees do a lot to return to the naturalness of it. Maybe it's removing electronic noise or 1/f noise or dielectric dispersion, I don't know. But it works. Here I go: better, more defined highs; great detail; more harmonics; better timbral accuracy; more delineated and articulated bass. All of the above with coherence! Integration of transducers as if it were only one (it's like having a better crossover). Easyness to the sound as if the speakers became more sensitive. Great attacks and natural decays (I never thought they were so important). Strings sound fantastic and drums may frighten you. This "tweak" (I consider it more like a fundamental part of the circuit, like a capacitor o a resistor) seams to be for everyone: my speakers are humble, truthful Paradigms and they were transformed. I know that Martens Design included them as a regular part in his expensive Coltrane HiEnd speakers. Reviewers have tried them on other speakers and electronics with similar results. I guess that even if you buy super expensive speaker cable there will be something that that cable won't deal with, and the Bybee will. If I were wealthy (I love the sound of this word) I would make an "all Bybee" speaker cable.

Strengths:
Great product. Produces benefits in every aspect of music reproduction transforming it in something more real. And the whole is better than the sum of the parts. Can transform your speakers and is the best cure to upgradal fever. Everybody says that the effect is additive.

Weaknesses:
Price is high on absolute terms, but in relative terms they are a bargain. You will need to spend a lot of money if you want to atain a similar benefit buying new gear. After all, it's only money!

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $375.00 from Audiogon

Summary:
I just recently purchased a pair of Bybee RCA Interconnect filters and although I was a bit skeptical about the result to expect I have to admit they made a big difference. The sound is clearly more defined. More realistic presentation and powerful bass and for some reason the system sounds louder. Basically besides what some people think about audio tweaks. These filters REALY work

Strengths:
best audio investment in years

Weaknesses:
none

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
