Bought used Denon AVR-600RD for less than 50$ and unit is in perfect condition. I use it only for music in stereo mode (Quadral floorstanding speakers QLX 175) and I'm disappointed with sound quality. The sound is a little too bright (usual for Denon) but it can't be corrected with Treble knob to provide fine result as for example with low end stereo receiver Denon DRA-335R. My opinion is if you want to listen to the music - avoid this A/V receiver. RDS tuner is very good but there aren't buttons for direct memorized station selection (5 x 8 memory for stations) and that's very bad

The Denon AVR 600 is a perfect entry level receiver for an audio enthusiast. Any decent speaker rated between 50-100 watts should be suitable. It has surround capability with 50watts for the left-center-right channels and 15watts for the rear, and a pre-out for a sub-woofer. Not too many
bells and whistles, but very clear and strong power. A good buy.

For a small price you can enjoy a home theatre. Buy an active subwoofer.

Strength:

Very powerful. All of the stereo you need for a small house or appartment. Will rock you speakers.

Weakness:

It is not the latest in Audio Technology. Not Digital. Only weakness I've had.

Good start up system for anyone. Liked it so much that when I upgraded I stayed with Denon.

Strength:

Cheep/good louds.

Weakness:

To weak for my speakers! I need more watt than Denons 50!

This AV/resiver is trying to get power to my Infinity Kappa 90 speakers, well it did not so good.

This thing is a piece of work! Did they contract with Samsung to built this receiver. Awful, bass heavy sound...cheap plastic parts...poor tolerance components. I know because I popped open the cover. This run of the mill line from Denon has just got run over by a JVC receiver. Go figure.

Who turned up the bass on this receiver's output. It's bass heavy, treble heavy and lightweight all at the same time. Build quality is a joke.

I purchased this unit (Denon AVR 600) for about a year and I'm satisfied with the performance. With the price tag of about $275 you will not be disappointed with this unit. I even compared it with other brands (Pioneer, Kenwood &Onkyo) of even higher price but this unit easilly outdone them all in terms performance.
