Decent for entry level AVR . Does not pass thru HDMI sound must use optic .people fail to notice this alot. Get what you pay for.

This is a decent receiver for the price. I think it is better for home theater then for just two channel listening. For example in surround 5.1 it sounded awesome both with movies and concerts, drums sounded very "life like" and detainee and with movies the same very detailed but I found with just two channel listening to CD's it was a little thin sounding for my taste. I will be selling it soon. I prefer my old H/K as it is more warmer and fuller for music.

can't believe this all the power you could ever need in a smll - medium size hometheater. hooked it to my ps3 a hd sat dvr a dvd recorder plus to a old sony 301 dvd changer and they all sound perfect only draw back is the size and weight (65 lbs ) a must have !!! it performers beautifully will be buying another denon for a larger room
