I bought this Denon AVR 1506 on eBay for $130 to upgrade to 7.1 for my AVR 1601 5.1. This unit is just what I expect from Denon, great crystal clear sound with enough power to rock my 18' x 24' family room. As usual with Denon, the remote control and the users manual are not the greatest, and the setup is confusing, but once done, the sound is great. This unit at total investment of $600.00 including speakers, puts out a better sound than my son in laws Bose system which cost him $1800.

If you can get one of these units on eBay, I highly recommend it. I now have 3 Denon systems, and they all sound great.

I bought this Denon AVR 1506 on ebay for $130 to upgrade to 7.1 surround my Denon AVR 1601 which has only 5.1 surround. The sound is just what I have come to expect from Denon -- crystal clear, no distortion, and plenty of power to rock my 18' x 24' family room. As is typical with Denon, the remote is not easy to use, and the manual is confusing. Also, the setup process is complex, but once it is set-up, the sound output, through my Denon surround system speakers - I believe they are mfd by Mission, is better than my son in law's Bose system which cost over $1500.00. My only real problem is that now I don't want to get off my fat rear end to do the chores any more, I am too busy watching movies. Who needs movie theaters now?
