from Station Street Audio Summary: Was I skeptical about ordering speakers without listening to them - YES! I have read some interesting reviews about STREEM speakers, but the reviews never seem to involve major reputable audio magazines/web sites.
So to minimize any risk, I ordered the STREEM BP-200 bookshelf speakers through Station Street Audio. At $200 per pair, what's the risk. The BP-200's arrived 3 days later.
The packaging was wonderful, double cardboard boxes plus foam. Build quality appeared High-End. These speakers are rock solid and sturdy. After the initial break-in period, I started auditioning with a wide range of material - rock, jazz and classical. The BP-200's sound unstressed, even at higher volumes. The bass is tight and solid way down the audio spectrum - no boominess in these speakers. The mid-range tonal quality is warm and spacial. The highs are clean sounding with good dispersion characteristics.
The more I listened, the better they sounded. With any material, these speakers disappear and only the music remains. Isn't that the function of good speakers? Very non-fatiguing audio and they can play VERY LOUD! These are truly amazing sounding units. Too bad they are not sold through outlets where they can be auditioned - but this would most certainly add to the cost.
